What this directory does not do

Short answer: this directory lists the addresses. That is the whole job, and everything else on this page is a list of what it is not.

• It does not check whether the market is up. No pings, no crawlers, no percentages. If an address fails to resolve, we will not know, and we will not tell you.
• It does not show an online or offline badge. There is no dot to look at and no state to read.
• It does not publish a "last checked" date. Nothing here is checked on a schedule, so the date would be a fiction.
• It does not run graphs or history. No uptime chart, no sparkline, no "status over the past 30 days".
• It does not proxy the addresses through the clearnet. A gateway that reads your traffic while you browse the market is not a mirror, it is a reader. We would rather give you the raw string.
• It does not track visits. No analytics, no pixels, no cookies. The page loads or it does not, and nothing is recorded.
• It does not require an account. No registration, no profile, no saved state between visits.
• It does not run ads or partner links. Nothing here is funded by clicks, and no link on this site pays us.
• It does not offer an app. It is a page, and it stays a page.
• It is not the market. There is no shop, no cart, no login form. The storefront lives behind the three addresses on the addresses page.

Why

A directory that monitors the onions becomes a dependency of its own. One day it goes down, and you cannot tell whether the directory fell or the market did, so the useful information is gone exactly when you need it. A static page that only changes when the set rotates has fewer things that can break, and when it does change, the change is the news. Less moving parts, less to trust. That is the whole argument.

How to use that

If a page claiming to be this directory shows a green dot, an uptime percentage, or a timestamp, it is not this one, or it is a copy with extras bolted on. The only thing to check is the set of addresses itself, and you compare it character by character, the way you would compare any other string you did not type yourself. If the characters match the signed set, you are fine. If they do not, close the tab.
